CIT-11 EARTH LEAKAGE RELAY WITH CBCT
(RESIDUAL CURRENT RELAY)
OPERATION
In an earthed neutral A.C. System the sum
total of phase and neutral current is zero i.e. there is no
leakage current. However, if at any place a failure of
insulation takes place then part of the phase current returns
via earth instead of neutral. The active and neutral currents
are then no longer equal. This unbalance is detected by a core
balance current transformer for onward tripping of circuit
breaker.
CONSTRUCTION
This protection system basically comprises
of two components :
CBCT - Core Balance Current Transformer :
This is supplied in ring or rectangular shape to suite
mounting on conductors/cables or busbars/circuit breaker.
RELAY - The Information from C.B.C.T. is
first of all amplified by the amplifier stage from there it is
evalued and only when the leakage exceeds the preset value it
operates a relay.
Available off the self – Setting 2 to 12
Amps, Aux. Supply 230V, CBCT bore 90mm/140mm/200mm. Suitable
for use up to 600V system. Contact 1 NO + 1 NC with flag Hand
